How They Met: We met through a mutual friend...in our University's dining common. I was on my way to the tray return, when I saw a friend of mine. I stopped to say hi to him and then he proceeded to introduce me to his friend Jonathan. The next week a group of us went to dinner and Jonathan and I just hit it off. It was as if we had known each other forever.
The Proposal: Around 5:15pm on March 12, 2011, Jonathan and I went to Reedy River Park in Greenville, SC. Jonathan had told me that he wanted to celebrate my birthday (3/20) and to dress up because we were going to go to a reservation-only restaurant. The only thing that I knew was that we had reservations at 7pm. So when we got to the Park we walked around and sat on a bench. (Meanwhile the weather was in the 70's and there were a good amount of people around). When I asked Jonathan what we were doing he just said that he wanted to talk. So... we talked...and talked some more. We moved benches a couple of times due to people sitting close by. We ended up on this swinging bench that was more secluded in the park. It was also near a little waterfall. Around 6:20 Jonathan asked me if I wanted to open my birthday present. I said sure and so he put this medium sized pink Happy Birthday bag on my lap. Then a group of people came in front of us to take pictures by the rocks and waterfall, so Jonathan quickly decided that we would post-pone opening the gift. Finally, the group of people left, so around 6:35 I got to open it. Inside the bag was a Photobook that Jonathan made. It was about 10 reasons why he loves me. When I got to the end of the book it said, "For these 10 reasons and many more... I want to spend my life with YOU!" At that moment Jonathan got down on his knee and asked me if I'd marry him. =) We got some pictures and then had to hurry over to High Cotton to make our reservation. At the table was a gorgeous dozen red roses. It was an awesome night that I didn't want to end.
