Congratulations
Luis & Joanna
Wedding Date: July 07, 2012 in Please Touch Museum
How They Met: We met in college - We both went to Hofstra University.
The Proposal: We met in New York so Luis, my fiance took me to NY. He said we were going to a work art show event for his work. He left me early because he said he had to set up for the event, but I was to meet him at 6 at the restaurant where he asked me to be his girlfriend two years ago. I showed up to the restaurant on time and was the first one there. I asked for our reservation only to be told that the place doesn't take reservations. A waitress walked up to me and asked my name. When I told her she handed me a envelope with my name on it. I was so confused. The note said we weren't having dinner and there was no work event tonight. I was to get in a cab and take it to Bloomingales. When I got to Bloomingdales Luis had my two best friends from out of town there waiting for me, I was so shocked to see them and now started catching on to what was going on. Alissa and Katie handed me a box with another note. The note was a poem leading me to the corner where Luis asked me to move in with him. In the box was one lime green Stuart Weitzman pump, and the poem said that I could find its mate at the next location. I have always said that I wanted to wear lime green shoes to my wedding, so Luis had these dyed for me. I was now so excited and jumped in a cab to get to 86th and 1st. When I arrive Luis was there with three dozen yellow roses and asked what was in the box. He asked to see the shoe and got down on one knee to try the shoe on my foot. He then pulled out the other shoe and said that he and I are perfect mates just like these shoes. While still down on one knee he pulled out the ring and proposed!! I said YES in between my sea of tears :)
