After meeting in high school and going to college together in Boston, our Philadelphia June wedding was a true celebration. We wanted to share our love of city life with friends and two very large families. We planned everything within walking distance: the ceremony at St. Agatha-St. James Catholic Church, the reception at the Inn at Penn, and photography on Penn’s campus (where the bride recently finished her M.S. in Historic Preservation). The party started the night before with Philadelphia Trolley Works taking the bridal party from University City to Amada in Old City for Spanish tapas, a precursor to our Barcelona honeymoon. The beautiful reception, filled with romantic peonies and roses in shades of peach, ivory, and pink, was marked by our passion for great beer: family and friends toasted us with Saison Dupont Ale, effervescent like champagne, in pint glass favors etched with the word “sláinte,” Gaelic for “cheers!” My short cocktail dress, the only gown I tried on, was perfect for a night of dancing with my new husband!
