A little over a month ago I had the wedding of my dreams. It was the most magical day. Getting ready with my friends all morning, pictures and The Navy Yard and then Merion Caterers for an unforgettable reception. Ladies if you go to The Merion DO NOT upgrade your cake. I paid for a cake and the pastry chef made a cake that was nothing like what I asked for. Even though I provided her specific pictures!! I mean you have to be really bad if you can not replicate a cake from a picture. Now they are only willing to provide me half my money. My cake had the wrong colors, flavor and less tiers then I paid for. They will not make it right. Bad Buisness. When talking one owner I was told "the other owners do not care, its all about the bottom line" DO NOT PAY FOR A CAKE AT THE MERION. Posted by Carmella: Aug. August 12th, 2012 at 1:43 PM

Back zip hidden with self-covered buttons. Fully lined. Falls to floor. Part of the J.Crew Collection. Import. Dry clean. Posted by Shucie: Jun. June 1st, 2012 at 9:44 PM

Hands down, the number one place we looked at (we looked at about 15 places). We loved Susan Aita and the whole staff from the beginning. We had our wedding Labor Day Weekend of 2011 and not only did we have great service, but they gave us a GREAT deal. They were very accommodating and the food was some of the best food I have tasted in my life. My wife and I have been telling friends to get married there so that we can enjoy the service and food all over again. If you want a great experience with fantastic food, then go to The Merion. Our wedding was on May 14th 2011. I have to say The Merion was wonderful. The staff was GREAT and our coordinator Susan was GREAT. There were 4 other events going on that same night but you would have thought we were the only ones there. The service was great!! The food was great!!! All my guests had a wonderful time and are still talking about it! We did have some things go wrong with the hotel (the shuttle service was really messed up) but it was Susan my coordinator who fixed the problem so I didn't have to worry. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Merion for any event!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Jacquie: Sep. September 1st, 2011 at 9:54 AM

I had my wedding at The Merion in 2008, It was AMAZING! A few of my guests said they have never been to such an amazing reception. I chose the Skylight Ballroom, just beautiful. I even decided to use chair covers the day before, and they somehow got a place to deliver them... on a holiday too! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. I did not get to see the cocktail hour, but everyone said it was just unbelievable, in a really good way! I must have went to about 10 different reception halls, and I made the best decision by choosing The Merion. Huge thank you to all the staff there!!! I even got the chef to put a small portion of all 3 main dishes on one plate so we could try them all, he did and it was outstanding! Thanks to the bar tenders too, because the bar was packed with my guests. And to the negative comment below, sue did bail on me too cause she was in the hospital. The staff stepped right in and took off where she left off without any problems! I cannot say a bad thing about this place, It was worth every penny. Posted by Nicole: Feb. On August 7, 2010 our wedding was held at the Merion and was truly amazing!! The Merion is absolutely beautiful with its gorgeous marble, chandeliers, and decor. Our cocktail hour was exceptional! Each guest raved about the abundance of food choices such as butlered hors d'oeuvres, hot stations and great selection of drinks. The Palace Ballroom was beautifully decorated and spacious. Dinner was also magnificient from the soup, salad, sorbet and delicious choices of Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Mignon and Chicken Romano. The Viennese hour was magnificient, we have never seen a dessert station with so many choices. The staff at the Merion were wonderful. Susan Aita was our wedding coordinator, Cliff, Don and staff were our maitre d's. Everyone went above and beyond to meet our expectations. The Merion is an amazing place to have a wedding. We thank all of you for making our wedding a day we will always remember. Sincerely, Lisa and Steven Pizzo Posted by Lisa: Sep. September 30th, 2010 at 8:01 AM

On 8-7-10 our daughter's wedding @the Merion was unbelievable. First the interior of the Merion is loaded with marble, gorgeous chandeliers, and is simply very ornate. Our cocktail hour was truly an amazing sight with plenty of food, multilple stations, and butlered hors d'oeuvres.Every guest told us they never been to a reception that had so many appetizers as the Merion.Plus the presentation was outstanding. The reception room was totally gorgeous and once again the food was truly delicious with choices of filet mignon, chicken romano, & chilean sea bass. Dessert table was second to none as there were too many to name. All in all the Merion was truly magnificent from start to finish. Our sincere thanks to all those involved @ the Merion especially Sue Aita in making that day one we will never forget. Thank You. Posted by Michael: Aug. August 18th, 2010 at 10:22 AM

I recently had a wedding at the Merion, it sucked. Susan Aita was my coordinator and she never even showed up to my event do to her unexpected PERIOD! In response to all the things that went wrong at my wedding the Merion took no ownership for their actions and responded to me with an excuse for everything and they quote "We never promise a perfect night; that would be unrealistic. What we do promise is that your evening will be beautiful and your guests will have a great time ( which mine did not). It sounds like we accomplished our goal. (Bull) We wish you all the best in the future; and we apologize if your evening was not as you expected. Sincerely, The Merion owners and managers I feel for all brides that are looking to have a wedding their, be prepared they do not deliver the details that they promise, and they will not make good on it they will just take your money and run, and say Have a nice life!!
