But she and the technicians at Carriage Trade calmly go about tackling stains, repairing loose beading and mending tears, steaming, and folding your wedding gown with acid-free paper into a box (complete with a viewing window) so that when you look at your dream dress years from now, it still gives you princess-for-a-day goose bumps. The muslin wrap costs a little more but buys you the museum-style preservation that Lady Di’s gowns have received. Prices start at $275 for preservation in plastic, $50 extra for muslin wrap; additional charges for complicated stains and mending.
