In an appearance on CBS’s Sunday Morning yesterday to promote his new film, Concussion, West Philly native Will Smith hinted that we may see his name on a presidential ticket soon.

At one point in the interview, the conversation shifted to what’s next for the Fresh Prince. Even with this new movie and a possible upcoming album and world tour in the works, Smith says the entertainment biz may not be enough. “There’s a contribution to the world inside of me that I can’t reach,” he told correspondent Tracy Smith. “There’s a thing that I’m supposed to be doing, there’s a person that I want to be … There’s so much more that I feel that I have to offer that I can’t access in myself.”

What could that be, you ask?

“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena,” he says, in a possible reference to Donald Trump.

When asked what office he’d like to hold, he answered: “I mean, I gotta be the president. Come on! What else would I run for?”

This echoes a statement he made last month on The Hill, when he hinted at a political future. “I think that there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there. … If I see a mountain, I have to climb it. I’m not a camper; I don’t like hanging in one place too long. So I think, at this point, I’m elevating my ability to be useful in the world. … I think that that’s what my grandmother always hoped,” the rapper turned actor said, “that I would make myself useful to people in this lifetime.”
