Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest — the ice skating destination and winter village on the Delaware — officially opens Friday, November 27th, with a whole weekend of activities that you can learn about here. A few days before that, however, organizers are hosting a more-private soiree for folks who want to check out the chilly digs before the hordes come in.
Unlike regular Winterfest programming — which is free and open to the public — the party requires a small ticket price. Organizers say the event is nearly sold out, but they’ve agreed to set aside the remaining tickets for Philly Mag readers. If that isn’t nice enough, they’re also chipping off $3 from the regular price. So instead of paying $10, you’ll get in for $7. The price gets you your first drink for free and a pair of rental skates so you can hit that Olympic-sized rink.

Doors to the party open at 7:45 pm and the event goes until 11. The opportunity will allow you first access to Winterfest’s cozy new outdoor cottages, the winter garden, fire pits, and heated tents. Garces Group and Franklin Fountain will be on hand for all your eating and drinking pleasures.
