The Annenberg Center has announced their first ever Dance @ Annenberg season, which has some pretty heavy-hitting artists coming to Philadelphia, including Twyla Tharp’s 50th Anniversary Tour.

“With this new series, the Annenberg Center’s dance programming continues to bring high quality artists to the stage with a line-up that celebrates cultural diversity and artistic excellence,” said a representative for the Center. The performances are extremely varied and feature something just about any type of dance enthusiast.

The season starts with Urban Bush Women on October 22-24, which is a group of seven women who infuse “contemporary dance, music and text with the history, culture and spiritual traditions of the African Diaspora.” Next, the legendary Twyla Tharp is bringing her 50th Anniversary Tour, featuring a series of new works, to Philadelphia from October 30-November 1.

In 2016, Ballet Hispanico brings “classical and contemporary dance with Latin flair” on February 5-6. The exceptional Dance Theatre of Harlem presents classic ballet masterpieces in the city from March 3-5. The season closes with the Philadelphia-based choreographer, Meredith Rainey Dance, on April 1-2.
