Seated in his 1981 DeLorean time machine, Dr. Emmett Brown (a.k.a : The Doc) flips on his opaque silver glasses and announces, “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.” Then, with a coy smile, he puts the pedal to the metal to propel himself and teenage sidekick Marty McFly to the day October 21, 2015.

If you’re a fan of classic cinematography, then you are probably familiar with this epic scene from Back to the Future II. For over 30 years we’ve eagerly awaited this day to come, and it’s finally just around the corner.

To mark the occasion, Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) will host a special screening of Back to the Future II on, you guessed it, October 21st. A future-ized DeLorean, complete with a flux capacitor, will make an appearance at the parking lot across the street from BMFI. Anyone eager to snap a photo with the “time machine” capable of withstanding 1.21 giggawatts (!) can head over to the lot at around 6 pm.

Comes dressed in your finest Back to the Future attire. Those rocking puffy vests or a ’50s gown fit for the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance will receive free popcorn. Extra points to anyone who can wrangle an auto-adjusting jacket or self-tying Nike’s. In addition to competing for best costume, moviegoers can play for futuristic prizes during a trivia introduction by Delorean owners and Back to the Future superfans, Robert and Lillian Arana.

Back to the Future II will begin playing on the big screen at 7 p.m. The screening is $12 for general admission, $9 for seniors, $8 for students, and $6.50 for BMFI members. Tickets can be purchased online at BrynMawrFilm.org or in person at the box office during operating hours.

Roads? Sadly, you may need some roads to get to this event. Unless, you plan on hover-boarding your way there. Bryn Mawr Film Institute is located at 824 West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA.

If you’re itching to celebrate a little early, The Oval is screening Back to the Future II this Friday, August 21st with the film’s original DeLorean and Doc Brown and Marty McFly impersonators available for photo ops. That’s happening from 5 to 11 pm, with a screening time of 9 pm.
