Manayunk.com just announced on Twitter and Instagram that the first-ever Hidden River Blues Festival is coming to the Venice Island Outdoor Amphitheater on Saturday, August 15th.

“After the success of events like the Manayunk Arts Festival and StrEAT Food Festival, the Manayunk Development Corporation is proud to announce a brand new music festival,” reads a statement on the site. “The Hidden River Blues Festival is a celebration of one of the most inspirational and eclectic genres of modern music.”

The one-day event will kick off at 11 am and feature blues artists from around the country, including Chicago’s Otis Taylor Band and Steve Guyger and the Excellos; New York’s Sugar Blue; the James Supra Blues Band from Foglesville, Pa.; and Philly’s Deb Callahan Band and Tattar Tucker Moog Jackson, who will perform with “Chicago” Carl Snyder

Besides the music, there will also be food vendors and a beer garden. Tickets—$10 in advance and $15 at the gate—and more information can be found at Manayunk.com.
