15 Fourth of July Fireworks Shows in Philly and The Surrounding Area

From intimate small town celebrations to the largest free concert in the United States. The region is home to a multitude of spectacular fireworks displays.

Barbecues and parades are fun, but everyone knows Fourth of July is all about the fireworks. Towns across the country have purchased their gunpowder and are gearing up to give an explosive salute to our great nation. We’ve listed some of the most impressive shows taking place throughout the surrounding area.

Philadelphia

Grand Finale Fireworks over the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia is to America what Bethlehem is to Jesus, so we host the granddaddy of the all fireworks shows…it’d be rude not to. The Parkway will feel a little snug this Saturday when thousands join together to watch our hometown heroes The Roots rock the stage. Following the concert a spectacular show will explode over the Art Museum. Saturday, July 4th, 10:30 pm, free, Benjamin Franklin Parkway. 

Delaware River Waterfront

Satisfy pyrotechnical cravings by settling down along prime vantage points on either side of the Delaware River. The Waterfront hosts two shows to celebrate the holiday. Thursday, July 2nd, Saturday, July 4th, free, 9:15 pm, 121 North Columbus Boulevard.

Xfinity Fireworks Show at Citizens Bank Park

Skies above Citizens Bank Park will glow all the colors of the rainbow. The show begins 15 minutes following the baseball game against the Brewers. Thursday, July 2nd, game begins at 6:35 pm, must purchase tickets,  1 Citizens Bank Way.

Bucks County

C-is for celebrate fireworks at sesame place

If you missed the chance to see the world’s largest rubber duck, there’s always Sesame Place. The children’s amusement park will feature a fireworks show set to the tune of your favorite Sesame Street songs. Friday, July 3rd, Saturday, July 4th, 9 pm, $ 25, 100 Sesame Road Langhorne, PA.

Lambertville – New Hope Fireworks Display

Two towns will be united by one stellar display. Friday, July 10, 9:30 p.m. free, south of the Lambertville – New Hope Toll-Supported Bridge.

Montgomery County

Pottstown 4th of July Extravaganza

Pottstown presents a two-day celebration stacked with events that would make our founding fathers proud. By the time Saturday night rolls around, you’ll be happy to lay back and enjoy the beautiful show. Saturday, July 4th, 10 pm, free admission, Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Avenue, Pottstown, PA.

Skippack Fourth of July Celebration

Skies will sparkle when the sun goes down. The small town hosts a full day of patriotic events, including a parade in the morning and a Barbecue at Parc Bistro in the afternoon. Saturday, July 4th, fireworks start at dusk, free, Palmer Park, Skippack, PA.

Chester County

Phoenixville Independence Day Celebration

Rally the family and head out to Friendship Field for Phoenixville’s 17th Annual 4th of July Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. Vendors will offer water ice, funnel cakes and snakes to enjoy during the show. Saturday, July 4th, 9:15 pm, free, Friendship Field, Fillmore Street, Phoenixville, PA.

Good Neighbor Day

Fire trucks will be close at hand when Downingtown lets their rockets fly. The show begins at dusk but the town offers a full day of events before then. Saturday, July 4th, 9:30 pm, Free Admission, 1 Park Lane, Kerr Park, Downingtown, PA.

Freedom Fest

The Nottingham festival gives towns folks a sendoff with an amazing 30-minute show filled with unexpected surprises. Saturday, July 4, 6 pm, Free Admission, Nottingham County Park, 150 Park Road, Nottingham, PA.

New Jersey

Atlantic City Fireworks

View a beachfront spectacle from the Boardwalk or Marina. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will kick off the 15-minute show choreographed to mainstream pop music. Friday July 3rd, Saturday July 4th, 9:30 pm, Park Place and Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ.

Valenzano Family Winery

No need to BYOB, Valenzano’s got you covered. Skies will be booming with sound and you’ll be getting wine drunk. Friday, July 3rd, 5 pm, $10 adult 5$ children, 1090 Route 206, Shamong, NJ. 

Camden Freedom Festival

Before the rockets go bursting in air, enjoy live music by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Southern New Jersey, Kathy Sledge, and a special appearance by Blood, Sweat and Tears. Saturday, July 4th, 9:30 pm, free admission, 62 Battleship Pl, Camden, NJ.

Delaware

Elsmere’s Annual Independence Day Celebration

Leave the explosives to the professionals. Elsmere offers a town festival complete with food from local vendors, music and, you guessed it, fireworks. Friday, July 3, 5 pm, Fairgrounds Park, Filbert Avenue & Dover Avenue, Elsmere, DE.

4th of July Celebration on the Wilmington Riverfront
