UPDATED: The U.S. Army Band performance has been cancelled, and the fireworks show has been postponed to Sunday, June 28th at 9:15 pm.

Firework fanatics can enjoy a Fourth of July pre-show display at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing this Saturday, June 27th. The Delaware River Waterfront is bringing in America’s 239th birthday with a bang, hosting a slew of events during the Tall Ships Festival.

The celebrations begin at the Great Plaza at 8 p.m. with a performance by United States Army Band Pershing’s Own. The orchestra will play classic Independence Day favorites to set the mood and get you pumped for next weekend’s Fourth of July festivities.

Following the concert comes the main event, a rousing fireworks display. For those wanting to be closer to the action, Spirit of Philadelphia is sailing off on a Fireworks Dinner Cruise that begins boarding at Penn’s Landing at 7 pm and will be on the water from 7:30 to 10 pm. Tickets, which get you a dinner buffet and onboard entertainment, can be purchased here.

As if that’s not enough: All this takes place the same day that giant rubber ducky floats into town.
