Aide Admits to Stealing $15K From M. Night Shyamalan

Thirty-four-year-old Selma Nolan Cody, a one-time assistant to director M. Night Shyamalay, pleaded guilty this week to one count of felony theft by unlawful taking. The charges were initiated after she was accused of stealing $15K from Shyamalan and his wife, psychologist Bhavna Shyamalan.

Cody was hired by the Shyamalan’s to manage their Chester County home in 2012 and 2013. The unauthorized charges racked up via 195 purchases she made from places like Amazon, Old Navy and Netflix on a card given to her by Shyamalan and his wife for house-related items.

The judge in the case, Phyllis Streitel, ordered a pre-sentencing investigation be conducted before she sentences Cody. That will likely happen sometime next year.
