DO THIS: Get Your Camp On at The Oval

Three days of outdoorsy activities in the middle of the city.

Do you like the idea of camping—cozy fire pits, ghost stories, S’mores—but don’t really love pitching tents or dousing yourself in bug spray? We have a solution: Outdoorsy Weekend at The Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway takes place October 3rd to October 5th, offering plenty of camping-inspired activities for all ages.

Friday, October 3rd, features the return of The Oval’s summer beer garden, hosted by Yards Brewing Company. Listen to stories around the campfire courtesy of First Person Arts, then stick around for a nighttime screening of Moonrise Kingdom. Saturday and Sunday offer more kid-friendly fare, with face-painting, kiddie-sized tents and teepees, a screening of The Parent Trap and a showing of the Eagles game Sunday afternoon.

The following weekend is the last for The Oval for this year. From October 10th to October 12th will see a weekend-long Philadelphia County Fair, complete with carnival games, a Ferris wheel, and folk music.
