THIS WEEK: Academy of Vocal Arts Young Professionals’ Season Preview Party

The Academy of Vocal Arts, widely regarded as the country’s most esteemed training institutions for professional singers, is holding a fancy-dancy party this Friday evening for young professionals who are interested in opera, music, and Philadelphia culture.

The Season Preview Party, which will take place at the Academy itself (1920 Spruce Street) starting at 6PM, features a sneak peek of pieces from the AVA’s upcoming opera season. Guests will have a chance to mingle with other young opera lovers and enjoy opera-inspired cocktails and snacks.

Speaking of their upcoming season, it’s a great one: AVA will present Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri in November, the iconic La Boheme by Puccini in February, and Gounod’s Faust in April/May.
