Ritz Five to Screen New David Lynch’s Duran Duran Film for One Night Only on September 10th

The Ritz Five in Old City is one of 300-some-odd theaters to screen PAFA grad David Lynch’s latest film, Unstaged, for one night only on September 10th.

Shot in 2011, the film chronicles a Duran Duran concerts in 2011 at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles. The band were on tour to promote their album All You Need Is Now.

According to Rolling Stone, which broke the news about the screening, it runs for two hours and features 19 songs. More than regular concert footage, Rolling Stone says the film will feature “Lynch’s singular style, as the director superimposes images of his interpretation of the band’s lyrics over footage of the group onstage. These images include “wisps of smoke and fire and dead animals superimposed over the band.”

The trailer doesn’t offer too many other hints, but you can check it out below.

The event is sure to sell out. Head here for ticket links, and to check out other theaters in the area that will be screening the film.
