The last season of American Horror Story: Coven bewitched with the sounds of rock goddess Stevie Nicks, but this year it’s going to be all about the TSOP. TV Line reports that Philly soul queen Patti LaBelle has been cast in the fourth season of Ryan Murphy’s hit FX series, titled American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Like most information regarding the new season, details are slim. What we do know is that Patti will appear in four episodes as the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's yet-to-be-announced character. She is a townsperson—one who does not sing—who tries to solve the mystery of villain Twisty the clown killer, played by John Carroll Lynch.
LaBelle will be joined by other screen divas, like Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy. The story, set circa 1952, is all about the last freak show in America. Look out for it in October.
