Movie Nights at the Mann kicks off with “Gladiator,” featuring a live score from the Philadelphia Orchestra.

The Mann Center for the Performing Arts is taking Philly’s summer obsession with al fresco movies to a new level.

Next week, Movie Nights at The Mann kicks off, bringing a series of three movies to the incredible outdoor venue, each one accompanied by a live score from The Philadelphia Orchestra. Could there be a better way to experience a movie?

The series begins next week with the U.S. premiere of Gladiator Live on Friday, July 18th. Then, on Wednesday, July 30th, and Thursday, July 31st, the Mann will present West Side Story and Star Trek: Into Darkness. The movies will play on two enormous screens above the Orchestra, while they amplify each story with their ethereal sounds.

Movie-goers are invited to enjoy a picnic, or just the presence of their company, on the sprawling lawn before the films begin. Guests will experience these epic tales like never before: outdoors, under the stars, and accompanied by amazing live scores. You won’t want to miss this.
