Elna Baker of This American Life Teaches Philadelphia Storytelling Workshops

After a sold-out stint of workshops in June, Elna Baker of This American Life returns to Philadelphia for a much-anticipated series of classes at First Person Arts titled From Good to Great: The Craft and Business of Storytelling.

The intimate workshops, which run on July 12 and 13 at the First Person Arts headquarters (100 S. Broad Street), will provide insider secrets and tips for storytellers to help them establish a professional storytelling career.  Participants can expect plenty of one-on-one interaction and personalized feedback on their stories in the two-day workshop.  Topics include story structure, risk taking, publication, creating a “treatment” of a story, and how to pitch to magazines, podcasts, and radio shows.

Baker has appeared on The Moth Radio Hour, This American Life, BBC Radio 4, All Things Considered, WTF with Marc Maron, Studio 360, The Sound of Young America, and The Joy Behar Show.  Her work has been published in ELLE, Glamour, Men’s Journal, and O Magazine, amongst other publications.
