Yahoo Picks Up Original Series By Philly’s Mike Tollin

Yahoo has announced it will produce, for the first time, two original full-length series — and one is from Philly Smallville producer Mike Tollin. From Variety:

Mike Tollin, executive producer of the WB hit series Smallville and One Tree Hill, is teaming with TV director Bryan Gordon (Curb Your Enthusiasm) for eight half-hour episodes of Sin City Saints, which follows the exploits of a Las Vegas-based pro basketball expansion team. …

“When Yahoo planted its flag and said we’ll be in the business of doing half-hour comedy, our ears perked up,” [Tollin] told Variety. “What a perfect platform to have the most heavily visited sports destination on the Web.”

The show should debut later this year or early-2015 via Yahoo Screen, “a video platform that can be accessed on the Web or on a branded app available for consumption across devices and on TV via bestselling set-top boxes including Apple TV and Roku.” It will be released all at once for your binge-watching pleasure.
