So, maybe you only sent flowers for Valentine’s Day and maybe your girlfriend says she doesn’t mind, but deep down you know she was expecting more.  If you’re looking for a last stitch date idea, we’ve got you covered.   Sweep your girl off her feet, into your car, and on the road for a quick getaway to Washington, DC.  Here’s a great itinerary that’ll get you back in good graces:

  • Prove to your girl that you have an eye for elegance by staying at the award-winning Swann House Bed & Breakfast in Dupont Circle.  This boutique hotel is decked wall-to-wall with nineteenth-century plaster molding, elaborately carved fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers.
  • Once you’re all checked in, head over to Logan Circle to experience all the sights and sounds of this eclectic neighborhood.  Start your evening off at the hip restaurant Marvin named after DC’s own Marvin Gaye.  The fried chicken and waffles are a local favorite off this Belgian-inspired menu.  Regardless of weather conditions, be sure to head up to Marvin’s heated rooftop lounge to see What’s Goin’ On.  Often times, there’ll be a DJ manning the turntables with anything from soul to old school hip-hop.
  • Now that dinner is over, Let’s Get It On.  Dance the night away in Logan Circle at a myriad of clubs that are sure to please whatever musical style you and your date are in to.  Take your pick from reggae music at Patty Boom Booms, some South American grooves at Tropicalia, urban contemporary at Indulj, or some good old-fashioned classic jazz at Twin’s Lounge.
  • After some Sexual Healing, head over to the Tabard Inn Restaurant after checkout at Swann House for a brunch that includes homemade donuts with fresh whipped cream or a chocolate-banana layer cake.
