The group welcomes its 85th chancellor
Close to 700 well-wishers shook hands with John E. Savoth (left), Saltz Mongeluzzi Barrett & Bendesky, welcoming him as the 85th chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association at the Hyatt at the Bellevue last night. One of the many notable people I spotted in line included Ronald D. Castille, chief justice of Pennsylvania (right), who wished him well as Savoth embarks on several initiatives, including launching a major volunteer recruitment initiative through the Bar Association’s Military Assistance Program (MAP) to ease the burden of re-entry for our servicemen and women and their families by providing pro bono legal assistance. Next to Savoth is his wife Nancy Savoth, and next to her is outgoing chancellor Rudolph Garcia.
