HughE Dillon: Fashion’s Night Out at KOP

Plus the Young Friends of the Art Museum's jewelry-themed cocktail party

On Friday night, the Young Friends of the Art Museum held their annual fall event, the Rodin Garden Party, but not at the Rodin Museum as it is undergoing renovations. Instead this year the party was held at the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building. The jewelry-themed cocktail party highlighted the upcoming Desert Jewels: North African Jewelry and Photography from the Xavier Guerrand-Hermes Collection exhibition. Last week New York Fashion Week kicked off at its new Lincoln Center location. I usually attend, but this year I wanted to check out Fashion’s Night Out here in the Philadelphia area. After leaving the Young Friends event, I headed over to the King of Prussia Mall where there were several events, including fashion shows and giveaways at the Plaza. The crowd was buzzing when I arrived, but I beelined to Intimacy to meet the famous “Bra Whisperer” Susan Nethero, who has fitted Oprah & friends. OUT AND ABOUT
Kicking off Fashion’s Night Out in New York City was West Chester’s own QVC, which created a multimedia shopping experience in the heart of Rockefeller Center featuring the many ways consumers can shop “QVC Everywhere.” Anna Wintour and Seth Meyers stopped by to sign the September issues of Vogue. Isaac Mizrahi and Kristin Chenoweth helped QVC execs Mike George and Claire Watts do the honors at the ribbon-cutting. Guests that night included the Kardashian clan, as well as Melania and Donald Trump.

Stephenie LaGrossa and Johari Smith Rollins enjoyed NYC’s Fashion’s Night Out at Louis Vuitton.

Kendra Watch: Kendra Wilkinson filmed another scene outside Two Liberty on Friday—this time with a long black limo (Thursday her co-stars were Hank Jr. and a white Cadillac SUV). Then she enjoyed a Fashion’s Night Out celebration at Sky Room with BFF/Kendra co-star Brittany Binger, and Julie Dorenbos (wife of Eagle Jon Dorenbos). The next day, Kendra and Brittany headed to the Vivienne Tam show at Lincoln Center, before hurrying back to Philadelphia for the game opener on Sunday.

Philadelphians seen around Fashion Week tents: Jimmy Contreras, Matthew Vlahos, Elizabeth Wellington, Michelle Miller, GN Kang, Elaine Grabar and Jill Rizen. Seen at the Nicole Miller show were Mary Dougherty (owner of Nicole Miller Philadelphia), TV hostess Linda Swain, Lorianna Swain, Michelle Shannon (Center City District), Ahmeenah Young, Margaret Hughes (City Rep’s office), and Mia Christine Colona (from Nicole Miller Philadelphia).

On Sunday, Bradley Cooper was at Tommy Hilfiger sitting next to Jennifer Lopez, Neil Patrick Harris and Rumor Willis. Word is that the movie Neil filmed in Philly last year, The Best and the Brightest, will premiere before the end of 2010. (On Friday, Bradley Cooper took his mom to watch the women’s semifinals match at the 2010 U.S. Open.)
