The Maria Rita Cavalli Recovery Fundraiser was held at Q Lounge last Sunday to raise funds to offset her hospital bills. Cavalli was vacationing in St. Thomas early in March with her sister Pauline Cavalli Gelber. They were in a bar where an enraged women attacked several people with a broken beer bottle, slashing Maria across her left eye. Her nose was broken, face slashed, and arms slashed. She immediately went to a hospital in St. Thomas. But when she returned to the States, the 29-year-old had her left eye removed at Wills Eye Hospital.

Two years ago I covered the pink carpet and the premiere of Sex and The City. Fast forward to 2010 and my schedule is too busy to run up to Radio City Music Hall Monday night to cover the sequel, as that night I will be at the Bachelorette Preview Party at the Tap House in University City. Local attorney Craig Robinson is one of the contestants and will be making an appearance. There will be three high-profile, invite-only screenings of Sex and the City 2 in Philly. On Tuesday there’s a VIP screening at Prince Theater with Mayor Nutter and various other VIPs. Then on the eve of the opening, Moet & Chandon is sponsoring a screening at the Ritz Landmark in Old City.
Come dressed as your favorite stars from the movie or just in your best sexy dress, slipping on your best Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos to see a screening of Sex And The City 2 at 6:30 p.m.—hosted by four of Philly’s sexiest women: Nicole Cashman, Lauren O’Dorisio, Sabrina Tamburino Thorne and Kristen Foote (not pictured). Then there’s a VIP invite-only after-party at Sopra Lounge at Positano Coast. At 8 p.m. there will be another screening of SATC 2 hosted by Wired 96.5 and G-N Kang. For a $100 donation, you and a friend will be invited to their pre-party at Swanky Bubbles in Old City, and the 8 p.m. screening around the corner at Ritz East. Plus, you’ll have a chance to score a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes!
