Philadelphia Magazine threw their Philly Cooks event last night where more than 50 restaurants competed in a number of categories including best savory dish, best sweet dish and dish of the year.
- Savory РSole Food, Yellow fin tuna with pickled jalape̱o.
- Sweet – Tavern 17, Mexican chocolate cheesecake.
- Dish of the Year – Little Fish, Octopus Carpaccio.
Ken Alan of aroundphilly.com takes a look at Solefood inside the Loews Hotel on Market Street.
What Ken finds is a seafood restaurant up to snuff with the better hotel dining options in Philadelphia.
Executive chef Tom Harkins (formerly at The Moshulu) sees that Solefood truly lives up to its name. He has fashioned a seafood-centric menu of the freshest aquatic offerings, while providing just enough turf-side items for any carnivore to enjoy.
