As the nation reels in the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, community leaders in Philly are planning a vigil for Las Vegas victims on Tuesday.
Mayor Jim Kenney and other elected officials will take part in the event, which will start at 6 p.m. at Thomas Paine Plaza, located near City Hall and the Municipal Services Building.
The vigil is being organized by CeasefirePA, a statewide advocacy group working to reduce gun tragedies and stop the flow of illegal guns. Read more »

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend’s mom this past weekend.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Gregory Feldman of Harleysville, Pa. Officials say Feldman shot 48-year-old Amy Hermann, the mother of his ex-girlfriend, Rebecca Hermann, around noon on Friday. Read more »

A man was reportedly shot multiple times by his 3-year-old nephew shortly before noon on Friday near LOVE Park.
According to NBC10, police believe the incident occurred near 16th and Arch streets when the 3-year-old boy got hold of a gun while sitting in the back seat of his uncle’s car. The victim was in the driver’s seat when the boy fired the gun, police told the news organization. Read more »
A GoFundMe page for the family of Gerard Grandzol, the father who police say was fatally shot in front of his 2-year-old daughter in Spring Garden last week, has reached a quarter of a million dollars in seven days.
Police say Grandzol was shot in the evening of September 7th on the 1500 block of Melon Street, where he lived. He had just parked his car with his daughter inside when two brothers, 16-year-old Marvin Roberts and 21-year-old Maurice Roberts, approached him and demanded his wallet and keys, officials say. A teenager who was arrested in Thursday’s fatal carjacking attempt in Spring Garden will be charged as an adult.
Marvin Roberts, 16, and his brother, 21-year-old Maurice Roberts, both from Philly, were taken into custody on Saturday in connection to the shooting of 38-year-old Gerard Grandzol. Read more »
Police say a father was shot and killed on Thursday night in front of his 2-year-old daughter in Spring Garden.
Gerard Grandzol, 38, was shot around 8 p.m. on the 1500 block of Melon Street, where he lived, police say. Grandzol had just parked his car when he was approached by two men, including one who was armed with a gun, according to officials. Read more »
