TONIGHT: Sing Karaoke for Philly Queer Media

pqm logo largeThe Philly Queer Media Activism Series doesn’t kickoff till March, but Philly KJ Sara Sherr is ready to raise awareness — and funds — for it with a karaoke bash tonight at Tabu.

Philly Queer Media founder Cathy Hannabach tells me that the series will run March 20 – April 22 in venues across Philadelphia. “It showcases work by media artists at the crossroads of queer political activism and queer media production, particularly work that foregrounds the intersections of race, class, disability, citizenship, sexuality, and gender identity/expression. Its goal is not just to increase the exposure and accessibility of queer and trans* media makers, but also to build community and foster conversations around oppression and activism.”
