Okay, so this is kind of a big deal. If you like beer and Germans and, more important, German beers, then you should already have your tickets in hand for this weekend’s Philly Bierfest, which is being held at the German Society of Philadelphia on Saturday, February 22, starting at 1:30pm. This, from the organizers:
Bierfest is a great opportunity to explore the wide range of Pennsylvania beers made in German styles, like Pilsner and Dunkel, Kölsch and Bock, Schwarzbier and Altbier. Over 20 Pennsylvania brewers from every corner of the state are participating, in honor of PA’s rich historical and cultural ties to Germany, including: Appalachian, Barren Hill, Erie, Free Will, Lancaster, Lion, Neshaminy Creek, Nodding Head, Penn, Philadelphia Brewing, Round Guys, Samuel Adams, ShawneeCraft, Sly Fox, Stoudts, Straub, Susquehanna, Tröegs, Victory, Yards and Yuengling.
Attendees will also sample imported German beers from over 2 dozen brewers, including iconic high-quality producers of rare and unusual beers like Kulmbacher and Kloster Andechs. Other participating German brewers include Ayinger, Bitburger, DAB, Dinkelacker, Döllnitzer Ritterguts, Freigeist, Früh, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu Munich, Julius Echter, König Ludwig, Köstritzer, Lammsbräu, Mahrs, Miltenberger, The Monarchy, Paulaner, Pinkus, Radeberger, Stiegl, Sünner, Traunstein, Tücher, Veldensteiner, Warsteiner, Weissenohe, Weltenburger Kloster, Wolters, and Würtzburger.
