On July 25th, thousands of skirt-suited women and pleated-pants-wearing men will converge upon the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Wells Fargo Center to watch Hillary Clinton (finally) be announced as the 2016 Democratic Presidential Nominee. However, that’s good news for you, fashion-minded DNC goer, because you can easily wow the nation’s leaders with your political savvy and style sense. Here are five outfit ideas that will land you on the DNC best-dressed list, featuring the five most requested items for the DNC from Rent The Runway. Whether you’re a wrap-dresses-only type of gal or jumpsuit addict, we’ve got the best outfit combos to get you through the Democratic National Convention in style.
Perhaps the most frequent question I get asked each year around this time is: So what do I wear to the Best of Philly party? Here are some of my rules for women:
1. Don’t wear an overly fancy, floor-length gown. I’ve seen it before, and it looks out of place. We’re talking cocktail party attire, not black-tie.
2. But change out of your work clothes. A pencil skirt and button-down is too casual.
3. Leave the second-skin bandage dress for another night. Actually, why don’t you just ditch these entirely? Hervé has had its moment. That moment is over.
