Late last week, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf pulled the state police detail assigned to Lt. Gov. Mike Stack and scaled back staffing at the Northeast Philadelphia native’s taxpayer-funded residence just outside of the capital, the Inquirer reported.

As a result, State Police troopers will no longer chauffeur Wolf’s second-in-command in a black-and-white, and both housekeepers and state maintenance employees may report to the Fort Indiantown Gap residence only at prearranged times. Read more »

Lt. Gov. Billed State for Philly Hotel Stays While Still Owning Home Here

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Mike Stack billed the state for more than $4,000 worth of Philadelphia hotel room stays while the Democrat still owned a home in the Northeast, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

The La Salle College High School (and university) grad requested that the state reimburse him $4,210.69 for lodging and incidental expenses incurred on visits to the city between his inauguration in January 2015 and February 2016, when property records show that Stack and his wife sold their home. President Barack Obama was at Temple University yesterday stumping for gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf. Pennsylvania’s Democratic machinery, including State Senator Mike Stack, Mayor Michael Nutter, U.S. Senator Bob Casey, U.S. Representative Chaka Fattah, and Wolf’s one-time opponent for the nomination, former Pa. Department of Environmental Protection Secretary and former chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Katie McGinty turned out.

Jeff Fusco was on the scene, as well as at a Tom Wolf campaign stop at the 52nd Street ShopRite on Saturday.

State LGBT Groups Get Behind Philly Lt. Governor Candidate Mike Stack

A host of state LGBT organizations this week have endorsed Philadelphia State Senator Mike Stack‘s run for Lieutenant Governor. Among them is Philly’s Liberty City Democrats (LCDC), Pittsburgh’s Steel City Stonewall Democrats, and the Gertrude Stein Political Club of Greater Philadelphia (GSPC), which released a statement saying Stack, “has a strong organization, strong ties to our community, and has been instrumental to moving bits of progressive legislation through a government largely controlled by people who demonize our community.”
