Today’s splashy news is the announcement that Carl Dranoff is adding SLS International to South Broad Street and Philadelphia’s skyline. The 47-story tall hotel and condo tower will include a ground floor corner restaurant and bar space. So let the speculation begin, who will take this prime corner opposite the Kimmel Center?
James Beard award-winning chef and Philadelphia native Michael Schwartz is going to be returning to Philadelphia to cook for one night at Amis. Schwartz is the chef and owner of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Miami and will be in town for Marc Vetri’s Great Chefs Event on Tuesday, June 14th. The next day he’ll be at Amis for Genuine Amis, a four-course dinner prepared in collaboration with Amis’ Brad Spence.
The event will highlight Schwartz’s dishes, some of which are featured in his recently published Michael’s Genuine Food: Down-to-Earth Cooking for People Whol Love to Eat, a copy of which is included with the dinner.
