Interstate Drafthouse is honoring the Philly cheesesteak by preparing ten different cheesesteaks with each one being a little better than the last. Thursday, June 26th, at 7:00 p.m. stop by and try one (or all) of Chef Eddie and company’s cheesesteaks.
The menu includes the Classic Cheesesteak, Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, The Warrior (steak, chicken, fries, fried pickles and bacon wiz), The Mis-Steak (seitan, peppers, onions, mushrooms and chipotle wiz), Pizza Steak and more.
Come hungry and leave very, very full.

We’re into week two of #FoieFridays with a growing group of Philadelphia restaurants offering special $10 foie gras dishes on Fridays in June.

To start off a summer season full of crazy events that could end very badly the crew at Tattooed Mom is holding their first annual “Hotter Than Hell” Handmade Hot Sauce Contest. The competition, on Tuesday June 12th from 5 to 9 p.m., will feature 20 contestants vying for the ultimate title. The panel of judges for the competition includes Jen Zavala of Interstate Draft House, Collin Thompson of Barcade, Tony Baris the South Street tattoo artist and self-proclaimed hot sauce junkie, and Chubb Rock of Tattooed Mom.

Steak Cactus and Egg Tacos
Interstate Drafthouse in Fishtown is rolling out their new brunch menu. Chef Jen Zavala’s American-Southwest-inspired “Truck Stop Brunch” will be served every Sunday from 11am-3pm and features some, well, interesting dishes.
Drink specials like $4 mimosas, Beermosas, and Bloody Marys will be served along plates like Gator Breakfast Nachos, with egg and alligator sausage and Coffee Pudding French Toast with chocolate latte and maple syrup. For the less adventurous and/or gator-phobic there is always a Stacked BLT with avocado and Siracha mayo or the Chicken Salad Sandwich. Either way, the “Truck Stop Brunch” is sure to wake you up in the morning.

In honor of those lovely little Arctic Splash cartons that litter the streets of Fishtown on a regular basis, Interstate Drafthouse has created a signature cocktail for the locals.
For just $7 you can pick up a “Fishtown Iced Tea,” made with vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and Triple Sec, and served with Arctic Splash Iced Tea, all in an original Arctic Splash container. After all, nothing goes better with a nice cold drink than a paper carton-y aftertaste.
Maybe this will encourage the neighborhood to treat their favorite cartons with a little respect. And if the litter is just the best (or worst) marketing scheme ever created by Leigh Valley Dairy, well, it’s working.

We won’t have the Arrow Swim Club to kick around anymore. HughE Dillon reports the Northern Liberties swim club is being taken over Brian Nagele who runs the Philly2Night web site and King’s Oak on the Piazza. The new concept will be more affordable than the $1,000 memberships sold last summer. Chenango, the restaurant will be rebranded Yellow Fin Grill. [Philly Chit Chat]
