If on January 1st, you vowed that 2017 would be the year you become the next Jillian Michaels, and now — a mere 16 days in — you’ve already fallen off the workout wagon, Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco is here to swoop in and save you from self-sabotage. On Sunday, January 29th, the hotel is hosting their third annual Resolution Rx event to keep you on track, with tons of $5 fitness classes from studios around the city, mini massages and acupuncture (!!) and healthy grub.
Looking for a way to make Mondays a little more fun and a little less (to put it nicely) horrible? Red Owl Tavern might have to solution.
Every Monday this summer, the restaurant at the Hotel Monaco will be dishing out traditional clambakes with a whole lobster, clams, mussels, and shrimp. The exciting news? It is only $25. If you miss Monday, Red Owl Tavern will also offer the special Tuesday through Friday, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
And if that isn’t quite enough for you, they will also be offering a dozen oysters and a bottle of wine for $33 all summer long.

Boy, do I have some good news for you. Well, Old City’s Hotel Monaco has followed suit. Their weekly Mind, Body and Spirits yoga class, which comes complete with a free beer or glass of wine, used to run folks $20, but starting Monday, March 7th, the classes will be free — forever. Confession: Every Monday night, I watch Sunday’s episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In other words, I have the most embarrassing night ever. Every Monday night. But this coming Monday, I — and you, too! — will have a less embarrassing but equally enjoyable night thanks to Mariel Freeman of Three Queens Yoga.
On Monday, December 21st, Mariel is hosting her annual Mariel’s Favorite Things event at Hotel Monaco. There will be yoga, there will be a DJ and there will be Art in the Age drinks. And a little birdie tells me there will be some Lululemon swag going around, too! And the whole night — sweat session, drinks and all — will only run you $30. But that’s not the best part, this is: All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Broad Street Ministry, a local organization that helps to feed Philly’s homeless population. Read more »

If you’re cruising through the city tomorrow, be sure to give your bike a little TLC and stop by Hotel Monaco for their second annual Cycle Check-up event. The Kimpton Hotel is partnering with Keswick Cycle for a pop-up bike shop, where mechanics will perform on-the-spot wheel and tire inspections, express tune-ups, and adjustments on front and rear derailleurs and brakes—all for free. There will even be snacks, courtesy of Red Owl Tavern, and the chance to enter a raffle for a free Fuji bike. Holler!
The pop-up shop will be located in front of Hotel Monaco (433 Chestnut Street), from 7 to 9 a.m., noon to 2 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m. First come, first served.
