Losing sight of New Year’s fitness resolutions is a common problem: Whether your goal is to eat better, lose weight, explore new workouts or all of the above, it can be tough to stick with ’em. To help you guys stay on track, the folks at Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco are hosting their second annual Resolution Rx event this Sunday, showcasing a bunch of local fitness studios and — to help you exercise your charitable muscles — raising money for Back on My Feet. The best part? All the classes are five bucks. Read more »
Confession: Every Monday night, I watch Sunday’s episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In other words, I have the most embarrassing night ever. Every Monday night. But this coming Monday, I — and you, too! — will have a less embarrassing but equally enjoyable night thanks to Mariel Freeman of Three Queens Yoga.
On Monday, December 21st, Mariel is hosting her annual Mariel’s Favorite Things event at Hotel Monaco. There will be yoga, there will be a DJ and there will be Art in the Age drinks. And a little birdie tells me there will be some Lululemon swag going around, too! And the whole night — sweat session, drinks and all — will only run you $30. But that’s not the best part, this is: All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Broad Street Ministry, a local organization that helps to feed Philly’s homeless population. Read more »

The first ever Philadelphia Bacon and Beer Festival is coming to to the Hotel Monaco on Sunday, December 8th. Fifteen of the city’s best bacon-loving restaurants and nine local craft breweries are participating.
The event also benefits MANNA, with at least 50% of the proceeds going to the non-profit.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 13th at 10 a.m. The Philadelphia festival will only be a quarter of the size the original in Boston and that one sold out in minutes. This is the fourth city the festival has gone to. Denver was added in 2012 and San Francisco had its first bacon and beer fest this year.
Tickets are $45 and include access to the festival and unlimited samples from all of the restaurants and brewers.

The Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards is pretty much what it sounds like: a contest honoring the best 100 hotels around the world. And Philly’s own Hotel Monaco, in operation for just one year, has made the cut in the Sleek City Addresses category, which acknowledges “glossy city hotels that offer high style and first rate amenities.”
