Each year, the Great Chefs Event brings the best chefs from all over the globe to the Navy Yard in Philadelphia resulting in dozens of memorable dishes, like last year’s Foie Gras Cotton Candy from Daikaya in DC. Take a look at the 10th annual Great Chefs Event participating chefs’ list and tweet what your dream dish would be and who you’d have make it for you. The best bite you can think of from your favorite chef of all time. For example: “I would go crazy for duck confit pho by Charles Phan” or “I want fried chicken and waffle ice cream from Big Gay Ice Cream.” Get creative—your great, great grandma’s meatballs, want to see Marc Vetri take a stab at Kung Pao Chicken or take a bite of Tom Colicchio’s frog legs?
Mark Vetri‘s 10th annual Great Chefs Event, which benefits Alex’s Lemonade Stand and the Vetri Foundation for Children, will be held on Tuesday, June 9 this year.
The Great Chefs Event is the most culinary star-studded event of the year, featuring small plates prepared by food icons from around the country. You can read the full list of participating chefs here, but some highlights include Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael Symon, Michael Solomonov, Masahuru Morimoto, Nancy Silverton and Jonathan Waxman.
General Admission tickets are $350 (don’t get sticker shock! It’s for charity!), or you can pay $525 and get access to the exclusive afterparty with the chefs (all I’ve ever wanted out of life is to get drunk with Alex Guarnaschelli– for the kids!).
The event will be held at 5000 South Broad Street. Buy your tickets here.
This Saturday, March 22nd, the Lemon Society, a young professionals group that supports Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is hosting its third annual Lemon Society Speakeasy. The prohibition-themed mixology event takes place at the Pyramid Club, high atop the BNY Mellon Center at 18th and Market.
Bartenders from across the city will be creating cocktails for the event that will be put to a vote by celebrity judges and all those in attendance.
The 8th annual Great Chefs Event, benefitting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Vetri Foundation for Children will be held June 11, 2013 at Urban Outfitters headquarters at the Navy Yard.
As always, the list of participating chefs is a who’s who of American chefdom. The event isn’t cheap with general admission tickets going for $350. But it is for a good cause and you can start saving now.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand isn’t Marc Vetri’s only charitable venture. The Vetri Foundation for Children is collecting new or gently used cookbooks for Universal Audenried Charter High School and their culinary arts program. Now through January 21st they are collecting these books. Drop off your donation at any of the Vetri Family restaurants or mail them directly to the school:

Our coverage of Great Chefs 2011.
While Marc Vetri was hosting hundreds at his Great Chefs Event a couple of well known food writers were sitting down to dinner at Vetri.
Former New York Times critic Frank Bruni and New York Magazine’s Adam Platt dined independently of one another at Vetri’s eponymous flagship restaurant.
It didn’t matter that Vetri wasn’t in the restaurant as both tweeted their raves:
Last night I attended the Vetri Foundation’s Great Chefs Event at Urban Outfitters headquarters in the Navy Yard. The star-studded event raised a boat load of money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Culinary luminaries from around the country showed up to lend a hand for the event.
I’m a pretty laid back guy who probably was last in awe of someone when I met Wayne Gretzky when I was 12. But I was pretty geeked up for this event and as Marc Vetri said, why wouldn’t I be. Great chefs, TV stars and great chefs who are TV stars were at every turn. And as exciting as that is, getting to try bites from some of the best restaurants around the country in one place is an opportunity I recommend to everyone. Save a dollar a day and you’ll be in with cab fare home next year.
After fasting for the day I was ravished when they I was finally unleashed on the stations I couldn’t help but head right to the Shake Shack station. The temptation to try one of the first burgers served in Philadelphia just seemed like the journalistic thing to do. The gooey cheese and great proportions will make Shake Shack a happy addition to the Philadelphia burger scene.
Tonight is Marc Vetri’s Great Chefs event. This star studded affair raises money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The roster of chefs is a who’s who of the culinary elite. The $300 per ticket event runs tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at Urban Outfitters headquarters at the Navy Yard. We’re actually attending this year and can’t really contain our excitement.
