Early this morning on Good Day Philadelphia, the hosts wished Joe Frazier a happy birthday.
“Philadelphia boxing legend Joe Frazier celebrating his birthday today,” anchor Karen Hepp chirped. “Happy birthday, Joe! Also giving back to the community. He’s going to be meeting with friends and supporters at City Hall this evening to honor championship youth boxing teams and coaches. This year marks the 45th anniversary at Joe Frazier’s gym, located in North Philadelphia. The space has been used to develop several young athletes. He’s turning 73 years old today.”
“He really is a legend,” co-anchor Thomas Drayton replied. “Such a force.”

This morning on Good Day Philadelphia, anchors Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley (sorry, champion flag football teammate Alex Holley) decided to parody Titanic for some reason.
I guess that reason is: It’s a Friday in late December. I guess that’s why I’ve posted it now, too! (Also, the film was released 17 years ago today.)

Kacie McDonnell announced today on Good Day Philadelphia that she’s leaving Fox 29 to move to Kansas City. The popular traffic reporter dates Aaron Murray, a former Georgia quarterback who was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Fox 29 has named its new co-anchor for Good Day Philadelphia. Alex Holley will be joining Mike Jerrick at the anchor desk at the end of the summer. She’ll replace Sheinelle Jones, who left in March.
