UNIQLO Now Planning Four Area Stores

UNIQLOThe extremely trendy and fairly inexpensive clothing retailer UNIQLO is invading the region: first, a store opened in the King of Prussia Mall. Then stores were announced for Center City’s Chestnut Street and the Willow Grove Park Mall. Now, Shoppist reports that the Tokyo-based company is coming to South Jersey as well, to the Cherry Hill Mall:

A rep confirms that the store will open on September 26th, just a week before the October 3rd opening at 1608 Chestnut Street. It will be on the main level, sandwiched between a Bath & Body Works and an Abercrombie & Fitch. If you’re counting, this is four UNIQLO stores to open region in less than a year. World domination next? (Or maybe just Delaware.)

Can Wild Boar Save the Suburban Mall?

THERE’S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT—THIS IS MARC VETRI’S OSTERIA. It’s 8 p.m. on a Saturday night, with a 45-minute wait and good-looking people standing three-deep at the bar. Ever-present beverage director Steve Wildy hustles in his ever-present dark gray suit, uncorking the second $75-plus bottle of red for two beefy guys who loom over a Lombarda pizza, which Food & Wine deemed the restaurant’s “signature” pie. Chef and partner Brad Spence, his whites strangely clean, surveys the dining room, which is tight and loud and thick with the aromas of braised rabbit and dry-aged rib eye and that magical wild boar bolognese. It’s exactly what we expect Osteria to be.

Except for one little hitch—the giant blue neon sign shining in through the front windows: SEARS.

Because here’s the thing: We’re not on North Broad.

We’re in a mall.

And not the swanky King of Prussia mall, or even the newly Nordstrom-ed Cherry Hill Mall.

We’re in the Moorestown Mall.

Cherry Hill Mall Has A Restaurant Week

cherry-hill-mall-11

Just like how yo’ momma’s so fat, that she has her own gravitational pull, the Cherry Hill Mall is so big, it got its own restaurant week. So for those of you who spent way too much money at the Apple Store, but are really hungry for some family-style pastas at Maggiano’s, things are looking up.

The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, California Pizza Kitchen, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Grand Lux Café, Bahama Breeze, and Bobby’s Burger Palace, Nordstrom Marketplace Café and the Bistro at Cherry Hill (yes, that throwback luncheonette in the middle of the mall) are all participating, offering special deals for both lunch and dinner.

Bobby Flay’s second area Bobby’s Burger Palace will be opening on Tuesday, November 1st at the Cherry Hill Mall. Iron Chef Bobby Flay will be at the opening and we’re sure there will be lines.

Ella’s American Bistro is the name of a new restaurant opening on Sugartown Road in Wayne. The restaurant and bar is aiming to open in December. [Facebook]

The Pub & Kitchen crew are at it again. Just a week after announcing chef Jonathan Adams was launching a coffee line comes word that the team is opening Prime, a burger and fries joint on Rowan University’s campus. [Meal Ticket]

The Lucky Lab Tavern has opened in the former Sly Fox Royersford location. The grand opening is set for this Saturday. [Jack Curtin’s Liquid Diet]

First Red Mango in Area is Now Open

The area’s first Red Mango frozen yogurt has opened, but not on the 1300 block of Walnut. Instead, the Korean pioneer of tangy fro-yo has opened at the Cherry Hill Mall. The kiosk is located near the mall’s Macy’s Court.

This is the first location in the region. Red Mango USA has 120+ locations across the country.
