Carson Wentz’s Response to Vegas: “The World Needs Jesus In a Bad Way”

Carson Wentz. (Jeff Fusco)

By now, we’re all well aware that Carson Wentz is a Bible-thumper that jams out to Christian rock when he’s not throwing spirals in South Philadelphia. The second-year Eagles QB is heavily involved in outreach efforts, often wears shirts with religious connotations to press conferences (along with Jesus sandals), and regularly posts Scripture verses to his social media channels.

Wentz is a humble enough guy, and he’s insisted in the past that he’s not one for shoving religion down the throats of his teammates or fans despite his strong Christian beliefs. While weighing in on the national tragedy that occurred last night in Las Vegas, Carson invoked Jesus in a tweet that set off both nonbelievers and those who wished he instead used his platform to stump for stricter gun control. Miss America Went to High School With Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz (Jeff Fusco) & Cara Mund (Miss America Org.).

Cara Mund, the 23-year-old newly crowned Miss America from North Dakota, attended the same high school as Carson Wentz in Bismarck and even shouted out the Eagles quarterback after winning the pageant! (This is the first time an entrant from the Peace Garden State has won the whole shebang). Read more »

Carson Wentz Will Host Eagles Receivers in North Dakota

Carson Wentz. (Jeff Fusco)

Carson Wentz is carrying on the tradition of past Eagles quarterbacks such as Donovan McNabb and Sam Bradford (it’s such an embarrassment that he ever wore the wings) by hosting his pass-catchers in North Dakota for a private workout in July.

With mini-camp now complete, the Birds have some extended time off before the next phase of their offseason program – training camp – kicks off at the NovaCare Complex in the end of July. But there is never really an offseason for the dedicated, and count our young signal caller among them. Read more »

Carson Wentz Helps Local Class Get Out of Their Final Exam

Carson Wentz. (Jeff Fusco)

Weren’t finals the worst? No student wants to take a comprehensive final exam at the end of a long school year. It’s June, the weather is warming and you’re wishing that you weren’t stuck inside taking a stressful two-hour test.

With that spirit in mind, students at West Chester Rustin High School in Chester County cut a deal with their seemingly-cool teacher to ditch the final if Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz retweeted or favorited their tweet of the handshake agreement. Read more »

Carson Wentz Killed a Big Bunch of Birds

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is a hunter. He says he fell in love with it in college, and even went hunting with Mike Trout over Christmas vacation.

It’s pretty adorable when he talks about it: “Hunting is a good release, good way to get away from the game and just decompress, even it’s just for a couple hours. I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ve got a three-year-old golden retriever that I’ve raised. She hunts with me too. She loves it.”

Anyway, as you can see above in the video Wentz posted to Twitter, he went hunting recently and shot … a lot of birds. Read more »

Is Carson Wentz Really Buying a House in North Wildwood?

Carson Wentz in North Wildwood

There’s an article in today’s Press of Atlantic City about the North Wildwood gateway.

If you’re a lifelong shore-goer like myself, you might be interested in the story. It’s about how drivers heading into North Wildwood basically only see empty properties.

At New Jersey and Walnut avenues, three businesses are empty. Nino’s Family Restaurant never reopened after Hurricane Sandy. An old gas station is closed; it couldn’t compete with the Wawa down the road. And a McDonald’s franchise is also shuttered. Nino’s may be demolished soon, and the city hopes to revitalize its gateway area.

But it’s the last paragraph of the story where things get really interesting, when writer Jack Tomczuk lets a little rumor drop about the development in the former location of Coconut Cove: Read more »
