Good News: Marcie Turney is going to be selling them all weekend long.
Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. the delicious treats on sticks will be available at Verde.
Just about every restaurant in the Philadelphia is doing a special menu for Valentine’s Day. Many of which are being offered all weekend. Instead of listing all of those, here are some more offbeat ideas for Valentine’s Day, like eating budino and binge watching House of Cards, Season II on Netflix (which comes out on the 14th). Significant other, totally optional.
This Saturday through Christmas Eve, Barbuzzo’s Salted Caramel Budino will be available for pick-up at neighboring Verde. The delicious dessert in a glass has won Best of Philly and just about every other award a dessert can.
No preorder is necessary, just stop in and pick up one. Or more likely, several as you won’t want to share.
Budino pops, we hardly knew you. In fact we haven’t met you face-to-face yet. And if you’d like to bite into a frozen pop of creamy caramel pudding, frozen around a core of salted caramel and dark chocolate cookie crumbs, dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt, well then you have to plan on getting one this weekend. The invention of chef Marcie Turney and her Barbuzzo staff, this frozen treat is available today through Sunday at Turney’s Verde (108 S 13th Street), but just from noon to 2 p.m.
This Friday, Marcie Turney will be debuting Budino Frozen Pops at the Marcie Blaine Chocolate counter at Verde. Based on the amazing budino dessert at Barbuzzo, the budino frozen pop will feature the same creamy caramel pudding, frozen around a core of salted caramel and dark chocolate cookie crumbs, dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt.
The treats will only be available during August and within a small time frame. Budino pops will only be available at Verde on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. So plan accordingly.
Barbuzzo has sold more than 75,000 budino since opening in September, 2010 and received accolades in Bon Appetit and Philadelphia magazine.

Judging by the Twitter questions I’ve been answering this morning, not everyone has squared away Valentine’s plans. Check out our Valentine’s Guide for last second suggestions or try this suggestion on for size.
Head down to Verde on 13th Street, and pick up the Barbuzzo Budino for two pack for $15. Then cross 13th Street and grab a bouquet of flowers from Spike’s Greens flower shop pop-up in Duross and Langel. Add some Yards Philly Pale Ale soap and you’ll go from Valentine’s Day zero to hero.
Barbuzzo’s famous salted caramel budino is available for holiday pickup now till 5 p.m. Christmas Eve at Verde (108 S 13th Street, next to Barbuzzo).
The delectable Best of Philly winning dessert is $8 per jar, and unlike past years, you can just buy one. But why buy one? Then you’d have to share it.
