Congratulations to Budweiser Battle of the Burger Champion The Union Tap!

Update: Congratulations to Budweiser Battle of the Burger™ champion The Union Tap! The top pick included crispy-fried pulled pork mac and cheese, and was a favorite amongst attendees on Wednesday, August 24th, winning the restaurant $2,000. Runner-up Maggie’s Waterfront Cafe won $1,000. Big thanks to all of the burger fans who came out to crown the winner!

Burger aficionados, the votes are in! Thanks to you and your enthusiastic support (it’s burgers—what’s not to love?), we’ve tallied the votes and crowned the two finalists, Maggie’s Waterfront Cafe and The Union Tap—both of whom will head to Battle of the Burger™ event to duke it out live. Together, the triumphant eateries racked up an impressive combined 1,600 votes, beating out fourteen stellar entries. 

Next, both finalists will face-off at the Battle of the Burger™ event on August 24th, from 6pm to 8pm at Citizens Bank Park to determine the champion. There, attendees will be able to sample both of the top burgers (read on for the winning descriptions!), enjoy refreshing Budweiser in the beer garden, meet the Philly Phanatic and Clydesdale horses (cue squeals), and cast their votes for the ultimate winner. There will also be loads of ballpark favorites like a loaded fry bar (with regular and crab fries!), and plenty of Cracker Jacks.

At the event, Maggie’s Waterfront Cafe will serve their über-popular St. Louis Burger:

Homemade 8oz. Angus beef burger seasoned with their very own Maggie’s dry rub. Topped with applewood smoked bacon and smothered with a Budweiser-infused cheddar cheese sauce. Served on a brioche bun with BBQ ranch.

Meanwhile, The Union Tap will be cooking up the crowd-favorite The Pig Mac:

Crispy-fried pulled pork mac & cheese served on top of a grilled burger. Seasoned with homemade barbecue dry rub, melted pepper jack cheese, bacon and Jameson-infused barbecue sauce on a toasted brioche bun.
