WE ASK THE EXPERTS
Q/A with the Experts
Q: I want my wedding to be beautiful, chic, elegant-and eco-friendly. How can I go green without sacrificing style?

-Jess, Malvern

A: Hillary Lutz, Estia Restaurant: Choose a caterer who can provide locally grown food. Use recycled paper for invitations and programs. And, rather than wasting paper on place cards, display one large vintage frame with the table arrangements for your guests to find their seats.

A: Brian Toner, Eventions Productions: Add dramatic uplighting and room accent lighting using LED light fixtures. They use about 90 percent less power than normal lights.

A: Barbara Matousch, Ballroom & Theater at Collingswood: Make a donation to a special charity instead of favors. If you do offer a favor, make it a useful item or an edible gift. Use seasonal flowers that are abundant and locally grown, or flowers like sunflowers and mums that can be replanted. One of our brides used small burlap-bound trees to hold paper ornaments that served as place cards. The trees were then taken home and planted at their first home.
