Briar Vintage Closing Old City Storefront to Open Up Shop in Frankford

It’s also shacking up with sister store Sazz Vintage in new Bella Vista shop.

UPDATE: Sazz and Briar Vintage will both vacate their Old City storefronts, moving in together at 618 South 6th Street in Bella Vista.

ORIGINAL: Old City is losing a great men’s vintage storefront, thanks to rising rent prices in the area. We’re sad to see Briar Vintage pack up shop this June and move to a new neighborhood, as it’s been a mainstay for just shy of five years on 3rd Street. However, with a limited selection of its dapper men’s gear available in the adjacent vintage shop, Briar Vintage won’t be completely leaving Old City for good.

Briar Vintage and some of its bespoke men’s gear will be moving into a section of Sazz Vintage, its sister store, located right next door in Old City. David Lochner, managing partner at Briar Vintage, hinted at a name change to come with the two stores living under the same roof, but there’s still no word on what it may be called. The Briar Vintage inventory at Sazz’s current location will be somewhat limited — just a few racks of sport coats and blazers, says Lochner. Sazz also carries a selection of men’s clothes, in styles ranging from western to ’7os.

However, Briar Vintage has plans to open up a 1,600-square-foot studio in Frankford, directly above Bulk Vintage. Shopping the showroom will be by appointment only, but open to the public on Saturdays. Here, you’ll find the majority of Briar Vintage inventory, so make a beeline for Frankford if you’re looking to take advantage of their wide and curated selection of menswear.

Be sure to pop by the Old City location while you have the chance, now through the beginning of the summer. Also, keep your eyes on the store’s social media — we hear there’s going to be a huge sale happening mid-June before the big move.
