Behind the Buy: What Third Street Habit Is Loving For Fall

A peek at what Philly's top boutiques are showing this season.

Welcome, officially and finally, to fall! While you’ve been Shore-ing, sunning and stealing every last bit of summer before it winds away, we’ve been digging head-first into the new season’s style offerings. And let me tell you: They are good. We asked Philly’s top shops to give us a peek at their fall buys. Every day, we’ll be breaking down the the styles they’re loving, the trends they’re featuring, and the pieces to add to your new-season shopping list. Happy shopping!

The Store: Third Street Habit, Old City

The Look: Ulla Johnson

The Trends: Urban bohemian; statement outwear in suede and shearling; grown-up denim (“It wears so well in midi skirts, dark flares and kimono-style wrap tops,” says owner January Bartle); and marsala. “The Pantone color of the year factored heavily into collection and is such a rich and flattering color.”

Label to Watch: Mara Hoffman. “Taken collectively, her aesthetic is a wild ride, but individual pieces feature really sophisticated prints. The scope of her designs is inspiring — ready-to-wear, kids, swim, textiles — and always exciting.”

Best Buy: Frame Denim Le High Flare jeans ($196). “This slim flare has a mid-rise, is flattering on any body type, and can be worn casually or can be easily taken up a notch.”

The Accessory: Leather bucket bag. (Their pick: Erin Templeton Palooka bag, $328, available in store.)
