Manayunk Gets a New Vintage Store This Weekend

While vintage shopping online and via Instagram is fun, it can also be a bit of a gamble. (You can’t tell that that 1940s dress smells musty, or that the tulle underlayer of that 1950s skirt is disintegrating.) So while we’ve been content to shop Philly-based Millay Vintage online — and via the shop’s dreamy Instagram account — we’re over the moon that the store is setting up brick-and-mortar roots.
Owner Mary Spears is opening her cult-loved vintage shop in the old Meadowsweet Mercantile space at 4390 Main Street in Manayunk. The grand opening is this Saturday from 11am to 6pm. Stop by to shop her carefully curated collection of vintage clothing, furniture and home decor, along with a smattering of small-batch goods. Look for a floral pop-up out front and the ultimate treat: Each purchase on opening day comes with free flowers. See you there!
