It’s official: Philly is an eyewear startup hot spot. First a couple of Wharton grads dream up tortoiseshell eyewear haven Warby Parker. Then, Philly EyeWorks starts selling Philly-centric lenses in quirky hues. And now Barring Eyewear is offering a collection of earthy wooden wayfarers to round out your collection. Four-eyed Philadelphians, rejoice!

Here’s the scoop: local brand Barring Eyewear adheres to a giveback model. So, for each frame they sell, they donate a portion of proceeds toward the American Cancer Society and Rock the Future. The wooden frames come in a variety of materials including rosewood, zebrawood, black walnut and a classic matte acetate frame. Each pair rings in at $120 and comes with a lifetime warranty as well as a matching wooden case. Interested? You can score a pair here.  All we know is that it’s a blast to be bespectacled in Philly right now.
