Monday Obsession: Philly EyeWorks’ Colorful Frames

Going beyond tortoiseshell with the local eyewear brand.

For this week’s Monday Obsession installment, we’re highlighting the quirky-cool frames from local eyewear brand (and Best of Philly winner) Philly Eyeworks. Helmed by Clifton Balter and Erika Gleason, the eyewear duo sells brightly hued, completely customizable glasses created right here in Philly. Oh, and did we mention they’re only $99?

Shoppers can pick from 12 different frame styles aptly named after Philly cultural and geographic landmarks (we’re fans of the “Yo Adrian”). After selecting your frame style, you choose a solid color (11 options) or two-tone (6 options) and a polished finish or a matte one—lots of fun decisions. Once you pick out your dream frames or customize a pair, drop them in your cart and continue to checkout where you can input your prescription information. All the frames ring in at only $99 and are completely made in Philly.

Uncomfortable ordering your glasses online? Take advantage of their Home Try On Program where you can select up to four frames to try on at home before selecting your favorite. It’s basically the eyewear of the future.

From top to bottom: Brotherly Love in Cobalt (matte); Liberty Bell in Rootbeer over Crystal (polish); Franklin in Antique Crystal (polish); Whiz Wit in Slate over Cobalt (polish).
