Major sale news here: Mettlers American Mercantile (you know, the Nantucket-meets-Ralph-Lauren shop in the huge converted church at 2129 Chestnut) is having a huge denim sale right now. I’m talking Genetic, Habitual, and Current/Elliott (plus a bit of Splendid and Nanette Lepore thrown in for good measure) all marked down to $60 or less.

Even those weary of summer’s ubiquitous sales would do well to take notice of this one: You’ll find all washes (from white to dark) and cuts (from slouchy boyfriends to skinnies), along with colored denim and even a smattering of Habitual’s coveted leather-like coated jeans. For the guys:  You’ll find RVTS on sale, and you’ll love ’em.

The full scoop: These steep discounts are helping to usher in even more Parker Smith, an LA-based jeans line that focuses less on flash (no bells and whistles like distressing and holes) and more on fit (they feature a higher rise and a contoured waistband). While they’re not on sale (the line ranges from $198 to $212), they’re a worthy investment. But my recommendation: Hold off on these until fall (Mettlers is diving deep into the collection!), and stock up on ever-classic sale items like white denim and boyfriend jeans — always in style.
