The Look: Loafers and Merlot

What Shoppist super-intern Marina Lamanna wears to work. (And why she sometimes shops in the kid’s section.)

TheLook-MLToday I got Shoppist super-intern Marina Lamanna, a Drexel junior, to dish about her borrowed-from-the-boys, preppy-with-an-edge look.

The Look: Bass Kiltie Tassel loafers; corduroy skirt from Crewcuts (yes, the J.Crew kid’s line). “I’m only 5’1, so sometimes the smaller proportions of the kids’ cuts just fit better. (Plus, it’s cheaper). My advice: Order online so you don’t have to shop alongside ten-year-olds.”; button-up and denim vest from Madewell; Sephora Collection 04 Endless Purple lipstick. “It goes on creamy and then dries to a matte stain that stays on all day. I have the cherry red shade, too.”

My Style: "I'm pretty androgynous until I put on a super-girly lipstick or a costume necklace."

Where I Shop: "Madewell and J.Crew for classic sweaters and oxfords. Anthropologie for feminine dresses. I'm definitely a proponent of quality over quantity even if it means a few nights of eating Ramen."
