The hodgepodge of products this South Street store carries — rechargeable batteries, pencils made from recycled bamboo, solar laptop bags, recycled plastic utensils, chic bamboo tops from EcoGear, and some locally crafted accessories — all have to pass Philly environmentalist Tony Fisher’s good-for-the-globe test, either by being made from repurposed materials or by conserving the Earth’s natural resources. And Fisher’s leading by example: The shop’s earth-tone palette, construction and decoration (fluorescent light bulbs and decor crafted from soda bottles and magazines) are all environmentally friendly. Sometimes it is easy being green.
