Though I don’t normally need a reason to shop, this dreary economic climate makes even me — an admitted spendthrift — slightly wallet-conscious. However, when it comes to the oodles of local shops that have paired with worthy causes, purchasing a few new things suddenly feels less like untimely consumerism and more like a good deed. These five shops are offering sweet deals (or enticing rewards for donations, mostly in the form of steep discounts) that benefit great causes — totally worth plunking down your plastic for.
