So everyone updates their wardrobe come fall. But their home? Not so much. Maybe it’s because throwing a cardi over that summer dress is a heck of a lot easier than reupholstering your linen couch, but even smallish additions can make your space cozier and homier — just the feel you want for fall. I’m scooping up these home accessories for immediate, gorgeous gratification. (Hint: Once summer comes around again, stash these pieces away for next fall.)

1. Comfy-Cozy Throw
Carelessly draped over the arm of your couch or favorite chair, a soft blanket in subdued shades give instant fall appeal. This Missoni throw makes a graphic statement — check out more designer styles at Kellijane, my absolute fave spot for bed and bath textiles.

2. Pretty Paint
Okay, so maybe a little home reno is in order. An accent wall in a rich shade instantly warms up a room. I’m giving one of my living room walls the royal treatment with Benjamin Moore’s Grape Juice — a gloriously regal purple shade. (benjaminmoore.com)

3. Beautiful Candles
There’s a reason Philly-based Skeem Design has become a cult fave: Not only do their soy-based candles come in exotic scents that make your Vanilla Spice and Cinnamon Cookie versions seem majorly blah (Mayan Hot Chocolate and Mayan Ginger — yum!), their decadently embellished glass containers can double as gorgeous drinking glasses once the wax is burned out. Opt for these jewel-toned Andaluz designs (pictured) — perfect for fall. ($20-$48 at Open House)

4. Whimsical Cookie Jar
Whether your treats are homemade or store-bought (we won’t tell!), store ’em in this quirky-cool stoneware piece. It adds a dose of retro kitsch to your kitchen — in a prime autumn color, no less. ($128 at Anthropologie)

5. Colorful Accent Pillows
A cinch to switch, throw pillows are the easiest way to change up your look. I adore Adler’s graphically embroidered variety. Strategically placed on my sofa, my room will look effortlessly in tune with the season. ($110 at jonathanadler.com)
